Calm, planned end-of-life care — in the comfort of home.

For pets who find the vet stressful, home can be the gentlest place to say goodbye.

Compassionate vet Sophie with a dog

Hi, I’m Sophie — an experienced local veterinarian providing gentle, unhurried in-home pet euthanasia and end-of-life care.

Whispaws is led by me and my registered veterinary nurse, Jo, who provides calm quality-of-life and end-of-life planning support by phone and helps us respond promptly via WhatsApp.

We support families across Ashby de la Zouch, Coalville, Tamworth, Lichfield, Burton upon Trent and surrounding villages, with thoughtful planning, peaceful home visits, and personally managed aftercare.

A thoughtful, planning-led service tailored to you and your pet

Minimalist Line Dog Illustration Pet Log

With over 15 years of veterinary experience, I created Whispaws to offer families a calmer alternative to clinical settings.

Many pets become anxious with car journeys, waiting rooms and unfamiliar environments — particularly in their final weeks or months. My aim is to remove that stress and provide a peaceful, dignified farewell at home, with time and space for you to be together.

We also support families before the appointment itself. Our quality-of-life and end-of-life planning calls with our registered veterinary nurse give you a calm space to talk things through, ask questions and feel prepared rather than rushed.

Whenever possible, we gently encourage families to have a planning conversation in advance. Talking things through ahead of time can make everything feel clearer and less overwhelming when the moment comes, helping you make thoughtful decisions and focus fully on being present with your pet.

Losing a beloved pet is always incredibly painful. While we cannot take that grief away, we believe that with the right support, planning and gentle care, we can help make the experience more peaceful and less stressful for both you and your pet.

We cannot change the fact that we must say goodbye — but we can help make the experience more peaceful for both you and your pet.

If you’d like to talk things through before the time comes, our quality-of-life planning calls with our registered veterinary nurse provide a calm space to ask questions and plan ahead.

How Whispaws supports you

Quality-of-Life & End-of-Life Planning Calls

Jo (RVN) provides gentle quality-of-life and end-of-life planning support by phone. This gives you a calm space to ask questions, talk through options, and plan ahead without pressure — especially helpful if you’re not sure when “the right time” is.

Unhurried In-Home Euthanasia (Home Visit)

Sophie provides a calm, unhurried home euthanasia visit focused entirely on your pet’s comfort. For pets who find the vet stressful, staying at home can reduce anxiety and allow for a more peaceful experience.

Personal Aftercare, Cremation
& Ashes Return

We personally arrange individual cremation with a trusted local partner and carefully oversee the respectful return of your pet’s ashes to you. Thoughtful memorial keepsakes are also available. (All Whispaws euthanasia appointments include a small fur clipping.)

SERVICES

When vet visits feel too stressful

For some pets — particularly older dogs and cats — travelling to a veterinary practice can cause significant anxiety. The car journey, waiting room and unfamiliar environment may add distress at a time when comfort matters most.

At home, your pet can remain somewhere familiar, surrounded by the people, smells and routines they know.

No rushed appointments.
No waiting rooms.
No bright clinical lights.

Just quiet, gentle care focused entirely on your pet.
